Savvas Frangos MD, FEBNM is a Nuclear Medicine specialist trained in Medicine at the Freie Universitaet in Berlin, where he graduated in 1989. His specialisation was done soon after graduation at the department of Nuclear Medicine, Krankenhaus Neukoeln Berlin and University Hospital Ippokration Thessaloniki. In 1996 he received the Board Certificate with specialization in Nuclear Medicine.  Dr. Frangos is a Fellow of the European Board of Nuclear Medicine. Since 2001 he works as a Nuclear Medicine Specialist at the Nuclear Medicine Department, and he is running the Thyroid Cancer Unit, at the Bank of Cyprus Oncology Center, Nicosia, Cyprus.

He has published several papers in peer reviewed journals specifically about Thyroid Cancer and he is Member of the Editorial Board of the European Journal of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging and co-Editor of the Hellenic Journal of Nuclear Medicine. He presented in various scientific events about Thyroid Cancer

In 2022 he has been elected to be WFNMB President Elect for 2023-24 and consequently to be President for 2025-26.
