Dear Participants,
On behalf of the Local Organising Committee, it is our great pleasure to invite you to the International Conference on “Image Optimisation in Nuclear Medicine” – OptiNM, which will be held in Ayia Napa, Cyprus between the 23rd and 26th of March 2011.
The aim of this International Conference is to concentrate on the Image Optimization Approaches in Nuclear Medicine. We are bringing together experts in the field of nuclear medicine to present their latest research results, exchange experience and set future goals for image optimisation while balancing patient dose and diagnostic value.
The conference is funded by the Cyprus Research Promotion Foundation (RPF) and the European Regional Development Fund as it is organised in the framework of a research project entitled “Optimising Diagnostic Value in SPECT Myocardial Perfusion Imaging” (ΥΓΕΙΑ/ΔΥΓΕΙΑ/0308/11). There are no conference participation fees. During the course of the conference, we will take the opportunity to present highlights of the funded project, discuss the project progress and results, and define the next steps.
The conference scientific programme covers several important topics such as functional imaging, image optimization, quantification for diagnosis, justification, simulations, patient dosimetry – staff exposures – radiation risks, quality assurance – clinical audit, education –training – radiation protection culture, hybrid systems – image registration, new and competing technologies. It is organised on invited and keynote presentations as well as on workshops, round table discussions and various scientific sessions.
The conference is jointly organized by the Frederick Research Centre of Nicosia, Cyprus, the Department of Medical and Public Health Services of the Cyprus Ministry of Health, the Biomedical Research Foundation of Nicosia, Cyprus and the AGH University of Science and Technology of Krakow, Poland. Supporting organisations are the Cyprus Association of Medical Physics and Biomedical Engineering – CAMPBE, the Cyprus Society of Nuclear Medicine – CySNM, and the European Federation of Organisations for Medical Physics – EFOMP.
For your comfort, the Conference will be held at the Atlantic Aeneas Resort, which is a five star hotel. It is famous for its amenities and especially its pool which is among the biggest on the island. It is situated in the entry of Ayia Napa which is a well-known holiday resort. By the end of March the weather in Cyprus is warm enough to enjoy sunbathing and swimming.
