The Multimodal Mining Group in the Healthcare Informatics Department at the IBM Research – Almaden is looking for outstanding candidates for several Research Staff Member and post-doctoral positions in medical image processing and machine learning for a new long-term research project on combining clinical and imaging data for enhanced clinical decision making in cardiology and radiology. In particular, our focus is in cardiovascular imaging and breast imaging. 

Applicants should have a PhD in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science  or related fields and should have had work done in medical image analysis, computer vision or machine learning addressing areas such as : image processing, segmentation, object detection and recognition, and  statistical machine learning in large collections.  The candidates should have demonstrated independent thinking and achievements through publications in top quality conferences (MICCAI, ICCV, CVPR, ICML, etc.) and journals. Strong programming in Matlab, Java/C++, and system skills are desirable.
